Asset Recovery and Resale

When retiring, reselling, or relocating power generation assets, a systematic approach protects the electrical and mechanical integrity and financial value of the equipment. GRNZ recently undertook the extraction and resale of several high value generators on behalf of a major corporate.

Initial work included oil and coolant sampling, video documentation and online advertising.

Further work included utility company and electrical disconnections, safely isolations and lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures for all energy sources. All fluids were drained and removed from site with all environmental hazards properly managed.

Our technical team utilized detailed matchmarking, labelling every cable, wire, and structural subsystem to assist with re-assembly and prevent a "pile of scrap metal" scenario at the destination.

Utilizing cranes, gantries, or specialized forklifts, the GRNZ specialists sequentially broke down all heavy mechanical structures and generators into transportable components and removed them from site to dry storage.

GRNZ used our vast product knowledge and experience to complete an asset recovery valuation to assess the inherent value of the units. Several tons of recoverable cast iron, steel, and high-value copper wiring, along with several kilolitres of diesel were converted into working capital for the client.
