Tim Hussey
Director

Tim is a registered electrician and a highly experienced and capable diesel generator and battery energy storage specialist. His 30-year career spans everything electrical with generators and associated electrical systems counting for a large part of his time. Tim's also an electrical control specialist and has worked in the commercial, industrial and superyacht industry for decades. When Tim doesn't have his hands on a generator, he's either working on his hotrod or his lifestyle property.

Jason Lewis
Director

Jason holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a practicing license from the EWRB. Up until mid 2022 he owned a very successful power continuity and data center specialist business in New Zealand. His career spans more than 30 years in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, with vast experience in emergency Generator power systems and solutions. Jason also holds a commercial skipper's license and spends time sailing the Hauraki Gulf and beyond.

Lawrence Kieser
Director

Lawrence is a trained Diesel Mechanic and Motor Mechanic/Machinist, with over 30 years of power generation experience in designing, building, installing, testing and maintaining reciprocating Diesel, IFO and HFO Generators and associated fuel systems and electrical equipment. He also holds a practicing license from the Electrical Workers Registration Board. His experience includes designing and managing installations in Southern and East Africa, Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands and a few other places. His past includes several qualifications and positions as a Systems Engineer, including leading the development team for a highly successful Google CPC strategy.

General Manager & Accounts

Lisa comes to Generator Rental NZ Ltd with extensive experience in project, production, event and financial management. In her previous roles, she specialised in the management of experiential marketing campaigns, events and the interior design of creative spaces. With a focus on client requirements, Lisa brings all the necessary elements together to ensure all GRNZ projects are delivered against our clients objectives and surpass their expectations. Lisa utilises her commercially minded approach, financial prowess and organisational skills to ensure that Generator Rental NZ Ltd delivers technically robust, cost-effective solutions to the highest standards. Her responsibilities include working closely with our team of generator engineers and service technicians to ensure the recruitment of reliable suppliers, relevant logistics teams, preparation of quotes and estimates, and the overall smooth running of GRNZ. As General Manager, Lisa is also responsible for operations, assets, implementation of internal processes, and management of our accounts department.

Pacific Projects

Maans is a career mechanic who served in the military. He has worked in the Antarctic, throughout Africa, Egypt, the Mediterranean, and the Indo-Pacific. His experience includes private security, extensive fabrication and machining skills, refrigeration and electrical work. He has also undergone extensive training in Europe related to large engines and equipment. Maans has 20 years of onshore and offshore drilling experience leading crews and maintaining drill rigs and associated installations.

With almost a decade in the jungle of Papua New Guinea working in the Oil and Gas industry and with extensive experience in refrigeration and generator service and repairs, he is a great match for remote jobs. His expertise is widely regarded in the industry, and he is part of our experienced Pacific team.

Jenny has 25+ years of sales and account management experience in the IT industry, with 13+ years of sales and account management in the power continuity industry, covering UPSs, diesel generators and associated electrical systems. She is a key component of our team, previously a nurse, and looks after the crew’s health and wellbeing.

Generator Electrician

Bryden completed his apprenticeship in New Zealand and is now a registered electrician with a wide range of electrical experience across residential, commercial, and industrial installations. His background includes maintenance, testing, high-end residential projects, and large-scale commercial work. He has developed strong expertise in fault finding and problem solving, electrical servicing, and delivering practical, reliable electrical solutions. His experience also includes job planning and coordination, and working closely with other trades to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. More recently, he has started specialising in Generator related works ranging from repairs, connections, deployment, load testing and providing dependable backup power solutions across a range of applications. He is motivated, adaptable, and committed to ongoing learning and quality workmanship.

Bruno is a highly capable and reliable manager with an education in automotive engineering. His responsibilities include management of the Silverdale and East Tamaki yard and managing the maintenance and servicing of our Generator fleet and customers units. He's a real asset to our business. Bruno has also completed two years of an electrical apprenticeship.

Dean is a hands-on Service Technician. He spent two years at Repco as a parts supplier and enjoys working on cars, bringing solid practical skills to the job. Dean is presently undertaking an apprenticeship as a Plant & Machinery technician and knows his parts. He's an extremely valuable member of our team and loves field service and travelling all over New Zealand.

Service Administrator

Danielle painted Generators for several years while studying a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management, and has a strong interest in people, interpersonal skills and communication. With experience in warehouse management and accounts administration, Danielle brings an appreciation for both the logistical and technical aspects of her role as Service Administrator at GRNZ. Outside of work, Danielle spends much of her time puppy parenting. Jess and Lycon are also valued members of the GRNZ morale and security team, with Jess being somewhat of the company mascot.
