In some cases the use of a generator can be eliminated entirely and the same technology caters for sites with limited power capacity from the utility provider.

These systems use battery and inverter technology, thereby reducing the generator size, noise and fuel requirements on site to boost the power of smaller diesel generator to cover the peaks required for construction crane operation. The same system can in some cases also recover gravitationally generated energy in the crane operating cycle to charge batteries, further reducing wastage.
